NagaAI drops
web_search_options in Chat Completions. Use Responses or Messages for search.
Search depends on the provider
NagaAI passes the search tool to the provider that serves the request. If that provider cannot search, NagaAI removes the tool, and the model answers from what it already knows, without an error. Check the answer for aweb_search_call item or a web_search_tool_result block before you rely on it being current.
Options
Responses acceptsweb_search with search_context_size, user_location, filters.allowed_domains, and the NagaAI additions max_uses, blocked_domains and external_web_access. The older web_search_preview type takes only search_context_size and user_location. Sending both allowed and blocked domains fails with 400.
Messages accepts web_search_20250305 and web_search_20260209 with max_uses, allowed_domains, blocked_domains and user_location, plus the NagaAI additions search_context_size and external_web_access.
Options the serving model cannot use have no effect, and no error is raised.
