How Rate Limits Work

Our rate limiting is based on model type. There are two categories:

Free Models

All :free models share a combined rate limit:

Finding Free Models You can view all available free models on our models page — just look for the :free tag.
These limits apply regardless of whether you have a positive balance or not. Free models are perfect for:
  • Testing and experimentation
  • Getting familiar with the API
Paid models have no strict request limits. Your usage is only constrained by:
  • Your account balance — You need sufficient credits to process requests
  • DDoS protection — Our security systems protect against abuse while allowing legitimate high-volume usage
Our Philosophy We strive to process every legitimate request. Our goal is to provide reliable, scalable service while protecting against abuse — not to artificially restrict your usage.

Getting Access to Paid Models

To unlock access to paid models, you need to:
  1. Top up your balance with a minimum of $5 through the Billing Dashboard
  2. Maintain a positive balance — As long as you have credits, you can use paid models
Your account is upgraded immediately after your first top-up, giving you instant access to all paid models.
